Glock 43x Accuracy - Glock offers several pistols with long, standard, compact and sub-slide sizes - and they stand out in their subcompact offerings.

These guns are small and light, perfect for concealed carry. That's why these small guns are among the best sub-compact options on the market today, even though they don't offer the same magazine capacity as other compact or standard Glocks, or the same amount of firepower as other larger calibers.

Glock 43x Accuracy

Most notable are Glock's G43X Black, one of the many Slimline pistols the company offers, and the G48. Although both pistols are similar in that they both feature compact polymer frames, the G43X has a shorter compact slide length, ideal for concealed carry, while the G48 has a slightly more compact slide size.

The Glock Slimlines offer a compact pistol frame perfect for shooters with small hands or when concealment is important. This is accomplished by using a small 10 round magazine. Although the 10-round magazine offers a smaller capacity than other standard Glock pistol sizes, it is not comparable in size to a small pistol.

It's also worth mentioning that the 43X is chambered in 9x19mm. While this is by no means the most powerful shotgun cartridge on the market, combined with the 43X 10-round magazine capacity, it's not a bad thing at all.

The heart of the 43X is the Glock Marksman barrel, which is part of the Gen 5 Glocks, the Austrian company says is "an advanced barrel pistol based on a proven polygonal design that delivers improved accuracy." Glock is known for its barrel design that is said to provide a better seal between the bullet and the barrel, allowing for less gas leakage and less damage to ammunition. Glock says this translates into longer gun life and better overall accuracy. In the case of the 43X, the barrel is 87 mm or 3.41 inches long.

Another improvement of the Gen 5 is the front serration of the gun slide. Previous models featured serrations only on the back of the slide, and this new, tactile surface provides a better grip, even with wet or dirty hands and gloves. The slide is slightly wider at the end, which provides better ergonomics for pulling. Finally, the slide is treated with Glock's nDLC surface treatment, a coating that is virtually non-reflective and resistant to scratches and corrosion.

Although the 43X Black is a mis-mash of several Glock pistol models, the end product is a small pistol with magazine capacity and Glock's reputation for quality, accuracy and longevity.

History shows that Glock service rifles are known around the world for their reliability and fighting ability. The Glock 17, Glock 19 and other models are highly regarded.

For concealed carry, the search continues for improvements that work for both the Glock 19 and Glock 43.

The Glock 19 is a beautiful piece and one of the most well-rounded handguns in the world. The Glock 19 and its latest variants, the Glock 19X and Glock 45, offer reliable gun control and accuracy with excellent ammunition. The Glock 43 is a slim 9mm that offers true concealment with the power of a 9mm, but limited capacity.

Glock came up with the Glock 48 9mm. This can be called a longer slide Glock 43 than a G43 that carries a 10 round magazine.

The History Of Glock

The Glock 48 is also thinner than the Glock 19. The Glock 43X is a standard slide Glock 43, but this one features a longer grip that holds a 10-round magazine. Each has its place.

The slider is not locked. But the product is coated with silver nPVD. The look appeals to some, while others wish they had a black Glock. The Glock 43X features forward cocking serrations. I'm glad I waited until night sights were available for the Glock 43X pistol, as my gun had nice auto-illuminated metal sights with an orange front dot around the emitter.

The gun will fit Glock 43 holsters. The Glock 48 required makers to work on a longer, thinner slide than the Glock 19. The longer barrel of the Glock 43X gives the Glock 48 and Glock 19 more velocity, but is smaller and easier to conceal.

The Glock 43 will fit into some pockets. The 43X is unlikely to fit in pockets other than the largest types of workers. There are no grab bars and a small rail. As a police officer, I can say that the Glock 48 is a great ineffective handgun. As a logical choice, the Glock 43 is a good backup piece and the 43X is a gun for people who like the 43, but want to shoot it more accurately.

I took the Glock to the range with a good mix of ammunition to test its reliability and practical shooting. I drew Tac-It full concealment kydex on the waist belt hole. This company is among the few that carry the Glock 48. This holster accepts the shorter Glock 43X.

Taking a quick approach to concealed carry, the Glock 43X is quick, agile, and clears the holster quickly. With the short frame of the Glock 43, it is very difficult to ensure a good shooting grip. The Glock 43X offers a better shooting grip. However, the shorter slide removes the Hollar like the Glock 43.

Before going to the location, I shot the gun a lot and then dried it, and practiced the drawing. The result was good speed and a quick hit on target. I drew and shot manned targets at 5, 7 and 10 yards. The gun is fast on target and tracks well.

A long hold is an advantage over the usual 43 during exercise. No, it doesn't match the speed and control of the Glock 19, but it's a nice little pistol to shoot.

The primary loads used during initial testing were handloads using the Hornady 124-grain HAP practice bullet and enough WW 231 powder for 1,050 fps. I also ran a general-purpose handload using Hornady 124-grain XTP at 1,100 fps. Titgroup Powder provided the fuel for this installation. I used the factory Hornady 115-grain Critical Defense, Hornady 124-grain XTP +P from the American Gunner line, and Hornady 147-grain XTP. This includes practice loads, light and heavy loads for 9mm ammunition, and heavy loads.

The Glock 43X fed, chambered, fired and discharged the entire load without ejection. When shooting at a target, quickly, the forward position of the orange dot was useful for quick hits. As far as sight control goes, the rifle seems dead on the money with the 115- to 124-grain loads and the 147-grain load is a little higher.

As for recoil, the Glock 43X is a fun gun to shoot. The gun is lighter and thinner than the Glock 19, so the recoil pressure is higher, but it is an easier gun to shoot more comfortably than the Glock 43. The 9mm does not kick much and the Glock 43X is a comfortable gun to shoot.

Combat accuracy is more effective, but overall accuracy is always fun. I shot the gun at 15 yards with Hornady's Critical Defense and Hornady's 147-grain XTP - five shots in each load. Both are divided into groups of less than two inches. The Glock 43X is accurate enough for any personal defense task, reliable, light and a great choice for personal defense.
